Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to an inclusive digital experience.
Tamil Special Children UK is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What we have done
We have taken the following steps to make our website accessible:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios for text and interactive elements
- Keyboard navigable interface with a visible skip-to-content link
- Descriptive alt text on images
- ARIA labels on interactive elements and navigation
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes and devices
- Support for the prefers-reduced-motion media query to reduce animations
- Legible font sizes with scalable text
Known limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following limitations:
- Some PDF documents (newsletters) may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working to improve this.
- The 3D dome gallery component may not be fully accessible via keyboard navigation.
- Some third-party embedded content may not meet our accessibility standards.
